Wisconsin Cedar Branch Earrings
On my latest trip to Wisconsin, I told myself I could only bring one piece of wood home with me! This was a challenge since I have a tendency to want to bring home all the beautiful sticks and branches I find on a journey.
But I resisted the urge to horde every piece I saw, and I settled on taking home a sturdy yet humble branch of cedar wood I found near the shore of Lake Michigan.
I have such a respect for those cedars. They stand so strong and so resilient against the harsh winter winds that blow off the frozen lake and they have a unique way of resisting damage from bugs and fungus.
Their means to heal themselves in the rare case of damage to their trunks is incredible, and they seal off wounds with remarkable efficiency.
So to honor the strength and resilience of these beautiful trees, my solitary branch of cedar wood was transformed into these stunning earrings.
