When you order A Little Piece of Home, we take your wood and transform it into a beautiful keepsake. The most beautiful and unique cut is selected and then sanded, polished, and finished into a one-of-a-kind treasure. After your order is placed:

  1. Select a piece of wood that you would like to use for your product. The best pieces to use are from old fallen branches that have naturally dried out. “Green” wood that is freshly cut from a live tree is not recommended as the piece may need to be dried before using to avoid cracking. If we do receive green wood then we can still use it, but it may take an extra day or two of processing time.

    • Branches should be approximately 4-6 inches in length so we can have multiple cuts to choose from. Anything larger than that isn’t necessary, particularly when sending in the mail.

    • Branches should be less than 2” in diameter.

    • Blocks, slices, and boards are also accepted.

    • **PLEASE NOTE that remaining wood/scraps will not be returned!

  2. Send the piece of wood to us at the address provided in your receipt. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR ORDER NUMBER OR A COPY OF YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION IN THE PACKAGE!

  3. Remember that we use our best creative judgement to select the cut that will work best for whichever item was selected. If you have a more specific request, please contact us directly.

  4. Orders are completed and processed in approximately 1-3 weeks. You will receive email updates letting you know when we have begun working on your order, and when it is completed and shipped.
